LEEK RAMBLERS

Walking for Health

Walking for Health walks are now hosted by Ramblers and Macmillan Cancer Support - there is a very active group in the Staffordshire Moorlands - Fresh Air Fitness and Friends.  We meet in the car park at The Boat Inn, Basford Bridge Lane, Cheddleton, Nr Leek, ST13 7EQ  each Monday at 2.00 p.m. (excluding Bank Holidays).  Due to its tremendous success (we regularly have 20+ walkers), we are looking for new volunteer walk leaders.  If you feel you could spare a couple of hours each week, or less frequently, to lead a short walk of no more than 90 minutes, we would love to hear from you.   On the first Monday of each month, we also have an additional walk of from 10 to 30 minutes.

We have a variety of walks around the Cheddleton area - it's amazing how far you can get in an hour or so - and some of our walkers have been coming since we started over 13 years ago!  The walks are  aimed at people who have been recommended to take exercise following an operation, have not walked for some time, want to become more active, or just enjoy meeting, walking and chatting with friends.

If you feel some of the walks provided by Ramblers Groups are now becoming just a little bit more than you want to do, come along and see what we have to offer - walks by the canal, through the countryside and just around the village of Cheddleton.  We always enjoy!
